Happy New Year! A new year doesn’t have to mean that you should completely reinvent yourself, you can simply improve your daily habits and set new, realistic goals. A small change in your routine can have a big difference on your physical or mental health. While there are many New Year’s resolutions to set for yourself, not all of them are realistic. So, here are some New Year’s resolution ideas/goals to set for 2024!
Find your ideal study method
Of course the first item on the list is related to school, exam season is closer than you think. Finding a study method that best suits you is crucial for staying organized and lessening procrastination which is a common struggle for students. Some examples include breaking tasks down, time management, setting goals, and many more that I recommend you research on.
Spend less time on your phone
I don’t mean not using your phone at all, I mean track your screen time and start slow. The average person spends around 76,500 hours on their phone in their lifetime, which is about 9 years. Phones play a major role in procrastination. So, instead of scrolling endlessly in 2024, try to read a book, find a new hobby, go on a walk! A brief stroll in nature can greatly improve health and lessen stress. Give it a shot.
Keep your surroundings organized
Maintaining an organized environment reduces stress, makes you feel more relaxes, and allows you to feel more in control. Whether it be your closet, room, desk, or someplace else, organization leads to a better performance in academics and puts you in a more positive mood!
Stay hydrated and take care of your body
Finally, drink more water, limit sugary drinks/foods, and practice self-care this year. Find a skincare routine, stretch for 10 minutes a day, take a nap when your body needs it, play a new sport, eat more vegetables, and lots more. Strive to maintain healthy habits this year!
