It’s that time of year again: chilly mornings, being overloaded with school, pumpkin-flavored foods, and Halloween! Personally, my music changes with the season, and music definitely helps to get me in the mood for Fall and Halloween. So, to help enjoy the BEST season to the fullest, here are some song ideas to possibly add to your Fall ’23 playlist.

• Thriller – Michael Jackson

If you don’t already know about this classic, horror-themed song, then I highly recommend you give it a try. The lyrics talk about monsters of the night who frighten their victims. Jackson performs a zombie-inspired dance in the music video. It’s also a fun song to karaoke to!

• Season of the Witch – Donovan, covered by Lana Del Rey

Although Lana only covers Donovan’s folk-rock hit “Season of the Witch” for the film, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, it radiates the biggest Halloween vibes. The title of the song is pretty self-explanatory. Lana sings the song with her own unique twist that is loved by many.

• Soren – Beabadoobee

In contrast to the last two songs, “Soren” by Beabadoobee is a calmer song that’s nice to listen to while working on homework or studying in the Fall. Beabadoobee has always created songs with mesmerizing lyrics that are so descriptive and easy to relate to.

• Carry Me Home – Jorja Smith

Another slow song to play in the background while you’re studying. Smith’s captivating voice, lyrics, and the beat of the song mesh together to create a masterpiece.

• Roslyn – Bon Iver & St. Vincent

If you’re a Twilight fan, you probably already know of this song. If you are a Twilight hater, you would probably like this song. Give it a shot! The brilliantly crafted lyrics of the song emits a melancholy feeling to the listener. If Fall was a song, it would be this one.
