Are you a student who wants to be a nurse, doctor, healthcare worker, etc.? Do you want to join a club that aligns with those goals and gives you opportunities to volunteer and expand your knowledge in this field? Well look no further than FHA (Future Healers Association).
FHA is a club specifically for those who would like to pursue a medical profession and learn more about how to get involved starting now. The club focuses on providing opportunities for its members to explore medical topics, apply for scholarships, volunteer opportunities, internships and more. With a minimum of 5 volunteer hours, it is a great way to introduce yourself to service clubs and start giving back.
As a part of their initiatives, FHA raised more than $300 for breast cancer awareness last year and they made cards for hospitalized patients. Along with fundraising and cards, FHA worked towards helping their members create resumes and reach out to professionals in the medical field.
In the coming year FHA hopes to continue fundraising and providing their members with volunteer and shadowing opportunities. They would also like to expand to hosting medical debates and branch off into more aspects of STEM such as its applications in law.
FHA is also associated with a blossoming nonprofit, Youth Med Association, with provides students within and outside the club with opportunities within the STEM field. Whether you choose to join the club or reach out to YMA for help finding opportunities, both are great resources if your goal is to be a future healer.
